Between now and Christmas, I'll be highlighting a rare, special, or absurd items from EBay that might just be perfect for the NFL fan in your life.

The first item in our series is this vintage 1978 NFL Lunchbox. If you grew up like I did, in the era of the metal lunchbox that came with the matching thermos, this thing takes you way back like a Cadillac with four flats.

I remember sitting in the cafeteria, while all the other kids were psyched for cheeseburger day, and I'd sit down with this metal bad boy, have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a juice box. And if I needed to, I could swing this metal monstrosity at some knucklehead at recess, and it would crack his forehead open. You don't mess with a kid with a metal lunchbox.

$40.00 might seem like kind of a high starting price, but you know what? It comes with the Thermos. The Thermos has an NFL logo, and tucks snugly into the lunchbox, giving it some extra weight when you use it to go upside the head of the kid who threw a rock at your girlfriend by the swingset.
